The Client’s brief to Groves Natcheva was to create a stand alone structure in the garden which would be used as their studio, but could work as a guest house.
It has been sunk by a metre so that it appears smaller from the outside, with the feeling of immersion from the inside. Materials were chosen to create an atmosphere of a natural and overgrown garden. Groves Natcheva chose to expose the structure and we rendered the constituting materials to their most natural aged form. There is room around the structure to give a sense of space and air and to allow for the dramatic shadows in that part of the garden.
This project was completed in Spring 2018.
