Broseley’s Safety Standards
As a company we pride ourselves on our high standards of health and safety that we maintain.
These have ensured that we have achieved certification with nationally recognised SSIP and maintain an impeccable safety record. This not only provides confidence to our clients but also ensures a safe and healthy workplace for all of our employees.
Our reputation for safe standards is unique and we encourage our staff to behave responsibly and to put safety first. We seek to gain respect from our staff, clients, suppliers and the local community by building relationships and promoting our ethos of continuous improvement of our safety standards.
Our staff are the face of the company and they are viewed as the forefront of safety management. Ongoing training is provided to our staff to promote and enhance safety awareness. Our site managers are SMSTS trained and are assisted by our team of health and safety professionals who are always on hand to provide support with training, advice and regulatory compliance checks.
We recognise that our clients expect high safety standards and we ensure this by the careful planning of each project. Our Chartered Safety Advisor reviews each project and prepares safe working practices for site staff to abide to. High risk tasks are carefully planned and risks eliminated where possible or strictly controlled where they remain. Our site managers are chosen for their site and safety management capabilities and are based on each project to provide advice and support to all those working on the project. Method Statements and Risk Assessments are the key documents that we produce to safely plan our work and no tasks are undertaken without such documents being prepared and communicated to staff.
First Point of Call
Our site management team are the first point of call on each project. They are hands on site managers who implement and assist with compliance with all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation that affects their project.
Site management staff are continually refreshed and supported in order to enable them to implement new guidance and industry best practice.
All staff are actively encouraged to participate with new initiatives and assist with safe site management. Regular toolbox talks are held with staff to allow ongoing feedback and dialogue with site managers. All staff are encouraged to feedback with improvement ideas and are actively involved with safety management on a daily basis. Our view is that this involvement helps promote a positive health and safety culture, and ensures that everyone is given an opportunity to influence health and safety policies, procedures and working practices.
Our supply chain of sub-contractors are carefully vetted and are subject to our strict working standards to ensure that everyone is aware of and compliant with our safety systems.
At Broseley we select and allocate staff to projects depending on their ability, competence and experience with such projects. Adequate resources are always allocated to each project in order to undertake tasks safely and effectively.
