We asked 9 Broseley friends what they are most looking forward to post lockdown… Here are their spontaneous thoughts:
What I am very much looking forward to is not looking at my own face in the unlimited number of zoom calls each day. And very excited to buy a pint of Guinness sitting in a quiet corner on my own, and looking at it!
Greg Shannon – LTS Architects
The school run! It really is the little everyday things I used to take for granted that I’m missing most rather than holidays
Lily Paulson-Ellis – LPE Designs
I’m most looking forward to going for a sail on the Solent!
Jonathan Manser – The Manser Practice
Without doubt, a great haircut is top of the list, so I will head straight for Dean on Blenheim Place… but seeing friends is top of the list.
Sarah Stewart-Smith – Designer
Going to the ballet at The Royal Opera House. There seem times that I don’t think it will ever happen again as it’s impossible to social distance, let alone for the dancers to train so I long for the day that I can sit in a seat and watch the curtain go up once again to see pure magic unfold before your eyes real time – in real life!
I’m also longing to go out for dinner. My cooking is utterly dreadful so to taste something that actually resembles the item it was supposed to be is going to be a real treat!
Tim Gosling – Gosling Ltd
Escaping my kids!! I dream of arriving in Corfu and feeling that sense of excitement, the familiar smells, the heat, the escape! Aaaaarrrrrrrhhhh!
Will Fisher – Jamb
The thing I am most looking forward to more than anything else post lockdown is having dinner with friends
Wendy Nicholls – Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler
If you had asked me in the first week what I was most looking forward to, I would have said a restaurant dinner, but since we are cooking up a storm at home with carefully selected ingredients, my yearning now is for a cold pint of lager in a beer garden – I can taste that first gulp as I type!
Dean Keyworth – Armstrong Keyworth
Desperate to see Julie at Hari’s to have my hair cut, to go to Tom at Nevills for my highlights and back to Monika, Fleur and Marianna at Blo for my blow dry’s!
Lulu Egerton – Strutt & Parker
LOTS!
Going to a the gym before work or a movie or a show or the pub after work.
Sunday lunch at Perilla or Trinity with friends. A martini in the Fumoir at Claridge’s. A walk in the Palm or Temperate House in the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew; Dinner at The Dove pub in Old Chiswick. Quiet time in St George’s Hannover Square or Farm Street Church. Going to Afghanistan, India, The Middle East, Tuscany, Paris, Scotland, Ireland, Devon, Norfolk; Chicago, New York, California, Rhodes… I can go on!
Guy Oliver – Oliver Laws
