Reflecting the world around us
When Staffan Tollgard tells you not to miss an event, you take heed. And so it was that we discovered Man of Parts, for whom the Tollgard Design Group is the UK’s ambassador and retailer.
Based in their stunning showroom in the design district of Pimlico, home to many design luminaries, Man of Parts is launching their collection of iconic pieces.
Michael Murphy, Managing Director, says “We needed to find the right platform in London for our launch. We looked at a number of possibilities and we talked to several big names in the industry. Time and time again, the Tollgard Design Group were highlighted and within 10 minutes of meeting Staffan in his showrooms, we knew we had found our London partner”.
Founder, Stephan Weishaupt’s quiet personality belies his passion and drive. “A Man of Parts isn’t defined by borders, styles of roles for life. They explore and pull inspirations from many places and activities. The pieces have unexpected combinations and detailing with subtle but rich palettes that embrace natural materials”.
Some of the styles and designers in our range include:
From Yabu Pushelberg, the Bond Street / stool; Park Place / Dining Chair; Lombard Street / Sectional Sofa; Gin Lane / Trolley and Rua Ipanema / Chair.
From Sebastian Herkner, the Mainkai Floor / lamp and the Bleeker Street / table.
From Philippe Malouin, the Alexander Street collection has a Lounge chair and Counter Stool.
And from Osvaldo Tneorio, see his Rua Oscar and Symmetrical Law.
The images below capture a glimpse of the style and spirit of Man of Parts:
It’s quite unusual in the industry to allow people to change fabrics and leathers to see what their selections might look like – and this is something clients can do on-line
Weishaupt adds “My approach is how I consider art – it’s not calculated, it’s emotive and intuitive. Looking for our inaugural designers for this debut collection, for me it’s about working with genuine people with an open mind where we can collaborate together”
Michael Murphy, comments “It’s a multi layered vision with different perspectives. We seek to represent the inspirations of a diversity of ages, genders, backgrounds, not just a prescriptive vision of what your life should look like”
The Tollgard Design Group was founded by Staffan and Monique Tollgard in 2005. Focused on delivering interior design services to an international clientele, this award winning practice has since evolved and expanded into a multi-discipline studio. This includes product design, a ‘curated curiosity cabinet of the best and the bold of global design’, and a design-led and commercially focused contracts team.
