We hate to say the c word, but Coronavirus is something that is affecting people all over the world. With self-isolation in full swing, employees working from home and the children out of school, how can you celebrate your home in these testing times? Here are some of our suggestions:
Feng Shui / Marie Kondo your home – Take up Feng Shui and give your home a new lease of life with a fresh perspective on how you see your furniture and live. This is also a great time to declutter and get rid of ornaments, pieces of furniture that are taking up space and don’t make you smile.
Pick up a new skill – If there was ever a time to learn something new from the comfort of your own home it’s now. There is an array of YouTube tutorials and online courses available for everything, such as cushion making, re-upholstery, up-cycling old pieces of furniture and crafting. Injecting your home with a handmade piece will never have felt so good.
Get out in the garden – It’s often easy to overlook the garden with our busy lives, but this is the perfect time to appreciate the beginning of spring and all the wonderful flowers that are about to bloom. Order some seeds and get green fingered! Only got a window box? Plant it up!

Get creative with the kids – With the shut down of schools it will be a test for all parents to keep their children occupied, especially while cooped up. Why not let your children have some creative freedom with their bedrooms, from stencilling their walls with homemade stencils, to creating paper garlands and dream catchers to hang.
Have a clear out – Go through your drawers and discover things hidden away you had totally forgotten, from old disposable cameras you can send off, to letters from family and friends and photos you can re-love and display in your home.
Make changes to your home – This is also the perfect time to really look at your home and make a to-do list of all the things you might want to change and invest in, from looking into getting that extension you always wanted, to thinking about finally going for a basement dig, or simply having a re-decoration.
Enjoy your home – Remember to slow down and enjoy the spaces of your home, this fast paced life often means we miss the small things in life.
